ASCLS-NE Scholarships

Attention students! Applications are being accepted for personal loans from the Frieda Oltmanns trust. Ms. Oltmanns very generously donated the remainder of her estate to establish a trust for Nebraska MLS/MLT students. The American Society for Clinical Laboratory Science - Nebraska is pleased to announce that applications are being received for ASCLS-NE SCHOLARSHIPS. Scholarship winners will be announced at the Annual Meeting in April 2016.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

  1. The applicant must be a member of ASCLS (or have applied for membership) by November 1, 2015.
  2. The applicant must be enrolled in the final year of a NAACLS accredited program in Nebraska.
  3. The applicant must demonstrate scholastic achievement by presenting a cumulative GPA of at least 3.3 on a 4.0 scale.

HOW TO APPLY:

  1. Prepare a letter of application that documents your fulfillment of the eligibility requirements. Acceptable documentation includes:
    1. ASCLS membership may be documented by providing your membership number with the date joined or by including a copy of your membership card or by including a copy of your canceled check to ASCLS.
    2. Give the name of your program and your expected graduation date.
  2. Ask your Program Director to provide us with documentation of your scholastic achievement.
  3. Ask a faculty member or program official to provide us with a letter of reference evaluating the applicant’s professional characteristics such as leadership skills, community service, work experience, etc.
  4. Prepare a one-page essay describing a Clinical Laboratory Scientist that you admire. Please do not identify this individual, but be specific about the qualities that you appreciate in this person.
  5. Please include an e-mail address.
  6. Please submit applications via e-mail to: scholarships@ascls-ne.org.

APPLICATIONS MUST BE RECEIVED BY March 1, 2016.
